WHY An opportunity for media outlets to tour the new home of the Bower School of Music. FGCU President Wilson G. Bradshaw and Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences Donna Henry will be on hand between 10 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. to answer questions. Highlights of the facility:
• The 23,000-square foot, two-story signature facility will be a destination site for the greater community, overlooking a scenic lake and wetlands in a developing arts corridor on the main campus at FGCU.
• A 3,260-square foot, 196-seat Recital Hall with superb acoustics, generous stage, good sightlines, and plush seating with ample leg room and personal space offers audiences optimum music experiences.
• In March, the Bower School of Music announced a partnership with Steinway Piano Society to join esteemed music conservatories and schools by becoming an All-Steinway School.
• The outstanding music faculty, supplemented by this region’s gifted professional performing musicians and music educators, challenges students with stimulating, rigorous curricula guided by principles of the National Association of Schools of Music, the accrediting agency for music in higher education.
