FGCU Small Business Development Center Presents October Workshops

FORT MYERS, FL - Florida Gulf Coast University Small Business Development Center (SBDC) is hosting a series of workshops and seminars in October at various locations in Southwest Florida for small business owners and entrepreneurs.

Frequently Asked Questions about Starting a Business ( FAQ) Tuesday, Oct. 5, 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at SBDC Cape Coral Office, 1020 Cultural Parkway Blvd, Suite 3. Cost to attend is $20.

Toastmasters: Six-week Course to Improve Public Speaking Skills - Six consecutive Wednesdays beginning Oct. 6, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Remax Realty Group, Board Room 7910, Summerlin Rd., Fort Myers. Seating is limited. Cost to attend is $100 for the six-week series.

Bagels & Business: Guide to Becoming an Employer Friday, Oct. 8, 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at FGCU Main Campus - Lutgert Hall #4201. This workshop is taught by Sandra Peterson, SPHA, HR Consultant with Markham, Norton, Mosteller & Wright, CPA's. There is no cost to attend, but seating is limited and reservation is required.

Two OSHA Workshop Training Planned The first workshop is Wednesday, Oct. 13, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. The second workshop is planned for Saturday, Oct. 16, 10 a.m. to noon at Tri-County Apprenticeship Academy, located at 13830 Jetport Commerce Parkway, Ste 5, Fort Myers. Cost to attend is $20.

Turning Your Passion To Profit ( P2P) Saturday, Oct. 23, 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at FGCU Main Campus - Lutgert Hall #1206 for this all-day workshop and mini tradeshow of educational related courses from accounting, to angel funding, to media and technology panels designed for new and existing entrepreneurs. Featured luncheon speaker is Lee Knapp, author and motivational trainer. P2P is a partnership between Southwest Florida Today, FOX-4 and Rapid Print. Cost to attend is $69 for the full day, which includes breakfast and lunch, and $39 for half a day and includes lunch. Reservations required.

Understanding and Writing a Business Plan Monday, Oct. 25, 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Fort Myers Downtown Library, located at 2050 Central Ave, Fort Myers. There is no cost to attend, but reservations are encouraged.

Doing Business with the Government Series Fridays, Oct. 15, 22, 29, 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. FGCU Main Campus - Lutgert Hall #4201. Cost is $50 for the series and $20 per session.

PB & J : The Importance of Financial Planning for Your Business Wednesday, Oct. 27, 11 a.m. to 1p.m. at FGCU Main Campus - Lutgert Hall #4201. There is no cost to attend.

Overview of Doing Business with the Federal Government Wednesday, Oct. 27, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Indian State College Okeechobee Campus, 2229 NW 9th Avenue, Okeechobee. There is no cost to attend.

Legal Forms of Business Friday, Oct. 29, 9 a.m. to noon at Charlotte County Chamber of Commerce 2702 Tamiami Trail, Port Charlotte. There is no cost to attend.
