FGCU Art Gallery Opens "On Drawing" Exhibition with Reception Oct. 14
FORT MYERS, FL - The Art Galleries of Florida Gulf Coast University opens "On Drawing," curated by Geoff Hamel on Thursday, Oct. 14 at FGCU's main gallery. An opening reception with the artists Andy Browne, Geoff Hamel, Ken Hoffman, Andy Owen, Carol Rosenberg, and Carl Schwartz begins at 5 p.m. to 7p.m. A gallery talk by curator Geoff Hamel will be delivered in the gallery at 4 p.m. prior to the opening reception. The exhibition runs from Oct. 14 to Nov. 18.
"'On Drawing' provides evidence to establish a line, the most assessable art form, which accumulates through a framework of actions left behind by a 'hand,'" said Hamel. "Each artist present in this exhibition shows continuity of directed movements in space wrought with proof of a distinct labor."
The Art Gallery is located inside the Arts Complex on FGCU's main campus. The University is located off Ben Hill Griffin Parkway, east of I-75 between exits 123 and 128. Parking is available in Lot 7 for gallery visitors, parking passes are available at the parking kiosk located at the University's entrance.
