FGCU Renaissance Academy Hosts Chinese Art and History Lecture Series

FORT MYERS, FL - The Renaissance Academy of Florida Gulf Coast University announces its 2011 Chinese Art and History Lecture Series with a presentation by Julia White, senior curator of Asian Art, University of California, Berkeley. White's lecture, "Chinese Lacquer in Japanese Collections," will be held Tuesday, Jan. 11, at 10:30 a.m. at the Academy's 1010 5th Avenue South, Naples location.

This lecture series features nationally recognized speakers on Chinese art and history, and includes six lectures and a film presentation Tuesdays, Jan. 11 through Feb. 22 at 10:30 a.m. Online registration and additional information is available at

Among the Renaissance Academy's offerings are affordable, non-credit single lectures, short courses, day trips, computer classes, film series, life enrichment classes, writing workshops, travel abroad programs and other special events. There are no exams or grades, just learning for the joy of learning with friends, neighbors and peers. Course fees are typically $25 per lecture, and provide access to Academy programs located at 12 locations throughout Collier, Lee and Charlotte counties.
