FGCU's Theatre Lab Opens "Faustus Burns Brightly," April 4
FORT MYERS, FL - Florida Gulf Coast University's Theatre Lab invites the public to the opening of "Faustus Burns Brightly," a play written, directed and designed by Professor Barry Cavin, incorporating Christopher Marlowe's "Doctor Faustus," April 4 through April 8, and April 11 through April 15, in the Theatre Lab located at the Arts Complex on campus.
Performances are Wednesday through Saturday at 8 p.m., and a matinee performance on Sunday at 2 p.m.
The performance centers on a group of recent college graduates who open a small theatre on the dingy streets of Hollywood and decide to produce Marlowe's "Doctor Faustus" as their opening show. Art and life blend when the young company's funding secret leads to their Faustian bargains. The play is based on true events.
