FGCU Invites Media to National Conference on Autism

FORT MYERS, FL - Florida Gulf Coast University is hosting Promising Pathways: The Road to Best Practice in Autism, a conference for families, educators, and health care professionals addressing autism spectrum disorders, 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., at Alico Arena. FGCU President Wilson Bradshaw will offer welcome remarks. The event is open to the public.

Keynote speakers are Dr. Temple Grandin, educator and best-selling author currently teaching courses on livestock behavior and facility design at Colorado State University; and Dr. Tristram Smith, clinical psychologist and associate professor of pediatrics at the University of Rochester Medical Center.

The event is free and offers continuing education credits for some health-care professionals.
