FGCU Announces New Officers, Members of Foundation Board
FORT MYERS, Fla. - The Florida Gulf Coast University Foundation Inc. announced its new slate of officers and incoming board members for 2012-2013 at its quarterly meeting Wednesday, June 6 at FGCU.
John Fumagalli was named chairperson of the FGCU Foundation Board. Fumagalli is president and CEO for the Southwest Florida region for Northern Trust. He has served on the FGCU Foundation Board since 2007. Fumagalli serves as chairman of the executive committee, represents the Foundation at public and social functions, and presides over all Foundation meetings.
Charles Winton was named vice chairperson of the FGCU Foundation Board. Winton is the owner of Estero Bay Chevrolet. He has served on the FGCU Foundation Board since 2008. As the FGCU Foundation Board vice chairperson, he serves as chairman of the Development Committee.
Miller Couse was named treasurer of the FGCU Foundation Board. Couse is the chairman and CEO of the First Bank of Clewiston. He has served on the FGCU Foundation Board since 2009. As the FGCU Foundation Board treasurer, he serves as chairman of the Finance Committee.
Steve Magiera was elected as assistant treasurer of the FGCU Foundation Board. Magiera is vice president for Administration and Finance at FGCU.
David Call was named secretary of the FGCU Foundation Board. Call is the chairman, president and CEO of Fifth Third Bank (South Florida). He has served on the FGCU Foundation Board since 2011.
Along with new officers, the FGCU Foundation Board also elected three new members to four-year terms. They are Charles "Chuck" Ketteman, a retired business executive; Janet Cohen, a philanthropist and community volunteer; and Angela Black, CFO and director of Recruiting for the Glen Black Group of Northwestern Mutual.
The purpose of the FGCU Foundation is to support the educational mission of the University. The FGCU Foundation encourages, solicits, receives and administers gifts for scientific, educational and charitable purposes, all for the advancement of the University.
