ADA Advisory Committee
The Charge
February 15, 2005

The campus-wide ADA Advisory Committee shall be appointed by the President and shall serve to advise University administration on matters of inclusion such as accessibility and accommodations related to persons with disabilities.

Committee membership shall be comprised of diverse representation of the University community at large.

The Committee shall:

  1. Advise the University on campus design, construction, programs, and services as they relate to disability issues.
  2. Review and recommend budget priorities to ensure a “truly accessible” educational community
  3. Monitor and report to key leaders the University’s efforts and achievements in creating a “truly accessible” educational community.
  4. Advise and/or promote disability awareness and educational training.
  5. Serve as liaison to respective departments, Adaptive Services and EEO disability issues.
  6. Serve as an appeals body for disability or accommodation issues in accordance with University policy.
  7. Make recommendations for action on disability issues, policies and procedures.
