In an effort to make Florida Gulf Coast University a more Diverse and Inclusive place, the Office of Institutional Equity and Compliance has launched the Diversity and Inclusion Certificate Program for Faculty and Staff.
This Certificate will be a great way to show your commitment to Diversity and Inclusion, an important component of the new performance evaluation for University Staff. It can also be a valuable addition to Faculty portfolios.
In order to receive the certificate, Faculty and Staff will have to attend 5 presentations, trainings or events throughout the academic year. Events with multiple offers during the year, such as "Meet Someone New!"or "Dialogue on Race", may count only once towards the certificate. The calendar of events below will be updated throughout the year as new sessions and events become available.
Commitment to Diversity and Inclusion is a life-long learning endeavor. There are many areas and approaches that cannot be covered during only one year. Thus, Faculty and Staff are expected to keep their certificate current by attending a determined number of events every year. This will give participants the opportunity to develop a more rounded and complete understanding of the richness of our diverse society.
In order to record your attendance, we do need you to bring your Eagle ID to the events. If you didn't register for the certificate, but you would like to attend an event, you can always register at the event as long as you bring your Eagle ID. In order to register for the certificate program and any specific events, please send an email and UIN to email@example.com.
