Tour Description

Our travel is scheduled to take place from May 6 - 19, 2005 and will take us to Beijing, China and Lhasa, Tibet.

The travel program takes place first in Beijing, capital city of the People's Republic of China. In this historic city, we will walk through Tiananmen Square and stroll in the Emperor's footsteps in the Forbidden City. The program includes a day-long journey north to the Great Wall where you will be able to climb across the ancient stones for a panoramic view of the surrounding mountains.

From Beijing, we fly west to Lhasa, Tibet, in the Himalayan Alps, traditional home of the Dalai Lama. Additional course related tours will be included and will vary depending on the course you select.

We will return to Beijing to complete our programs. Depending on the course you select, in Beijing you may also visit the Ming Tombs; Tsinghua University Law School; a Chinese law office; a division of the US Embassy; Mao's Tomb; the Empress' Summer Palace; the Temple of Heaven; the Hong Qiao Market; or other sites in and around Beijing.

Our return trip from Beijing takes us back by way of Japan, across the International Date Line, via Detroit and home.
