Academic Building 8 is dedicated to providing the College of Health Professions with state-of-the-art practice laboratory facilities, classroom and conference spaces, and offices that will nurture the interdisciplinary mission of the College and sustain its programs and enrollment for the next decade. The construction of this building adjacent to AB5 and Lutgert Hall will complete academic core of the west end of the campus and support interdisciplinary collaboration of College faculty and students with colleagues in bioengineering, business, education and social services and foster interdisciplinary research and community service efforts. Examples of the instructional and student support environment made possible by a new building, Academic Building 8 will include the following:
- A large lecture room that will accommodate approximately (120) students.
- A wet lab shared by Anatomy and Physiology faculty and students.
- A minimum of one (1) lab space for each of the following:
- Athletic Training
- Human Performance (ground floor)
- Nursing Simulation Lab
- Nursing Practice Lab
- Occupational Therapy Lab
- Physical Therapy Lab with Specialty Areas
- A minimum of one (1) conference room per floor to facilitate graduate class meetings and team projects.
- Sixty-five (65) faculty offices, plus a Dean's Suite of offices.
- A minimum of one (1) office per floor for support staff.
- Storage areas on each floor for record and equipment storage.
