"Coming to FGCU was a lifestyle decision based on wanting to live in this beautiful area and to be close to my spouse's family. I entered academia primarily as a researcher, not a teacher. In those regards FGCU is a significant step down from my previous institutions. My goal as an Associate Professor of Computer Information Systems at FGCU is to expose my students to the most up-to-date technology and analysis methods possible. I feel that it is important for students to walk away from information systems courses with the necessary theoretical background to understand and cope with complex systems as well as skills they can readily apply in the work place. These skills go beyond the use of common PC tools to include such things as systems analysis, object-oriented design, strategic information systems, human factors, and network theory."
