Information Summary
Salary Increase Guidelines for Out of Unit Faculty, A&P and
USPS Employees
The
University has provided funds for salary increases for the fiscal
year 2004-05 and for the fiscal year 2005-06 which is funded,
in part, by the 2005-06 Appropriations Act. This Special Issue
of HR Updates outlines the criteria for determining an employee's
eligibility to receive each of the increases, the applicable effective
dates and the guidelines for implementation of each base salary
adjustment.
2004
- 2005 Salary Increase Guidelines
ELIGIBILITY
All Out-of-Unit
Faculty, A&P and USPS employees hired on or before August
7, 2004 and who are in pay status in a salaried position on June
18, 2005, are eligible to receive the salary increase. Employees
who had an overall "below expectations" or "unsatisfactory"
evaluation rating on August 7, 2004 (or 2003-04 evaluation period
for Out-of-Unit Faculty) are ineligible. Out-of-Unit Faculty and
A&P employees who have received notice of non-reappointment
on or before June 18, 2005 are ineligible.
IMPLEMENTATION
Effective
August 7, 2004, all eligible Out-of-Unit Faculty, A&P and
USPS employees shall receive a pay adjustment of 5.0% calculated
on each employee's August 7, 2004 base rate of pay. This increase
will be provided, along with the retroactive payment, on June
24, 2005.
OTHER
CONDITIONS
Eligible
employees on leave of absence without pay on June 18, 2005 will
receive the increase to include retroactive payment for any time
in pay status between August 7, 2004 and June 18, 2005. The appropriate
based salary increase will be provided in the first paycheck received
after returning to work.
2005-06
Salary Increase Guidelines
ELIGIBILITY
All Out-of-Unit
Faculty, A&P and USPS employees hired on or before July 31,
2005 are eligible to receive the base salary increase effective
August 1, 2005. Employees who are rated as "Below Expectations"
or "Unsatisfactory" on July 31, 2005 (or 2004-05 evaluation
period for Out-of-Unit Faculty) are ineligible. Out-of-Unit Faculty
and A&P employees who have received notice of non-reappointment
on or before July 31, 2005 are ineligible.
An employee,
who has a "Below Expectations" or "Unsatisfactory"
rating, will receive the base salary increase when he/she attains
at least a "Meets Expectations" rating prior to June
30, 2006. Such delayed increase will be effective on the ending
date of the performance appraisal and the increase will not be
retroactive.
IMPLEMENTATION
All eligible
Out-of-Unit Faculty, A&P and USPS employees shall receive
a pay adjustment of 5.0% calculated on each employee's July 31,
2005 base rate of pay. This increase will be provided in the paycheck
on August 19, 2005.
OTHER
CONDITIONS
Employees
on leave of absence without pay on July 31, 2005 and who are otherwise
eligible for the increase will be provided the base salary increase
in the first paycheck received after returning to work and the
increase will not be retroactive.
