Benefits Statements
Employee Benefit Statements were mailed to employee home
addresses beginning September 22, 2005. Upon receipt, please
check your benefits statement carefully to ensure it is accurate.
If you find any discrepancies, please contact the PeopleFirst
Service Center at 1-866-663-4735.
One of the frequent questions our office receives is - My
benefits statement says I am enrolled in family dental coverage
but my dependents are not listed as covered?
Prior to outsourcing its benefits administration to PeopleFirst,
the State did not maintain dependent information for any supplemental
insurance coverage. The individual supplemental insurance
companies maintained covered dependent information in their
respective systems. People First is now required to maintain
your covered dependent information for all insurance coverages.
So if you have not already done so, please make sure you
visit the PeopleFirst website at: https://peoplefirst.myflorida.com/logon.htm
and link your dependents to the respective supplemental coverages
in which you want them to be covered in 2006.
HR representatives will be available during the Benefits
Fair to assist you with navigating through the PeopleFirst
web site.

Sick Leave
Pool
Open Enrollment
 The
annual Open Enrollment period to join the University Sick Leave
Pool begins on October 3, 2005 and runs through November
18, 2005.
All Faculty, A&P and USPS employees with at
least one year of employment and a minimum of 64 hours of unused
sick leave may enroll during the Open Enrollment period. At
the time of enrollment, each employee contributes eight (8) hours
of sick leave to the Pool.
The FGCU Sick Leave Pool provides an extra measure
of protection for an employee who may suffer an illness or injury
that exhausts all of their personal accrued leave. Without the
Sick Leave Pool, such an employee could be facing a medical leave
of absence without pay. Instead, members may apply to utilize
sick leave hours from the Pool, up to a maximum of 480 hours,
thereby continuing to receive their regular biweekly paycheck.
Eligible
employees will receive an e-mail notification and should complete
and submit the Sick Leave Pool Enrollment form attachment.
Those employees may also stop by the HR table at
the Benefits Fair on October 6th to enroll.
