Research Day 2013

The Office of Research and Graduate Studies and the Faculty Senate Grants and Research Team are pleased to invite all FGCU faculty, staff, and students to the 12th Annual Research Day.   We sincerely look forward to your participation in Research Day 2013.

When:  Friday, April 19th.  Oral presentations will also be held on Thursday April 18th, if necessary.

Where:  Alico Arena

Oral Presentation Registration Deadlines:
       Abstract Deadline: Friday, March 1st
       Full Paper Deadline: Friday, March 15th

Poster Registration Deadline:  Friday, March 15th

 Research Day 2012

The 11th annual Research Day was held at the Alico Arena on Friday April 20th. The following new categories were offered. 

  • Oral Presentations to provide a venue for students, staff and faculty whose disciplines normally require research presentations in a format other than posters.
  • Best Teaching Practices poster category
  • Research in Sustainability undergraduate student poster category 
  • Watershed Council of Southwest Florida graduate and undergraduate student poster category focusing on the protection, conservation, management and/or restoration of the land and water resources of the Caloosahatchee and Big Cypress Watersheds

A total of 266 presentations were submitted by our students, faculty and staff in the following categories.  A video highlighting several research projects by FGCU students and faculty was produced by the FGCU Community Relations and Marketing.  Please take a few minutes to watch the video to learn about the novel research conducted at FGCU

 Research Day 2011

The 10th Annual Research Day at FGCU was held on Thursday, April 21, 2011, at Alico Arena.  FGCU's Community Relations and Marketing has provided a VIDEO spotlighting some of the Research Day 2011 presenters.  Please take a few minutes to watch it; we're very proud of our presenters.

 A total of 203 posters were presented in the following categories:

  • Undergraduate Student Competition:  66 posters
  • Graduate Student Competition:  50 posters
  • Faculty/Staff Competition:  32 posters
  • Undergraduate Student General Viewing:  30 posters
  • Graduate Student General Viewing:  19 posters
  • Faculty/Staff General Viewing:  6 posters
