continued to administer the ETS Major Field Test (MFT) in Business to =

results from the MFT are used in conjunction with course imbedded =

administered during the 2004/2005 academic year indicated that business =
students continue to perform above the national norm.=C2=A0 In fact, the =
latest (2004/2005) overall score for the COB was at the 66.3 percentile =
and higher than the 2003/2004 score of 58.5 percentile.=C2=A0 This score =
is=C2=A0in keeping with the COB goal of having the overall student score =
above the 65th percentile, and all eight individual subject areas =
at=C2=A0the 50th percentile or higher.=C2=A0 Only the=C2=A0subject =
areas=C2=A0of Economics and International Issues=C2=A0were below the =
50th percentile.=C2=A0=C2=A0=C2=A0

The departments are=C2=A0in the process of compiling the assessment =
data collected by=C2=A0faculty.=C2=A0 An assessment=C2=A0report for each =
program should be completed by the end of May.=C2=A0

radio ads=C2=A0announcing three open houses, articles in Gulfshore =
Business Magazine and Gulf Coast Commercial, mailings to HR directors of =
key companies within the five-county area, and billboard advertising at =
US 41 and Daniels Parkway.=C2=A0 Also, the COB=C2=A0reviewed =
and=C2=A0updated the information pertaining to the graduate programs on =
the=C2=A0college website.

In the fall of 2005,=C2=A0the COB recruited a class of=C2=A013 to =
begin=C2=A0the new concentration in Real Estate Development and Finance =
for the Executive MBA degree program.=C2=A0

Initial enrollment in EGN 1006: Introduction to the =
Engineering Profession was expected to be 25-30 students in fall =

engineering courses and to help entering students stay on track to =
graduate in four years.

The SOE developed three degree programs to date:=C2=A0=C2=A0BS in =

FGCU Board of Trustees,=C2=A0the Board of Governors for the State of =
Florida, and Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS).=C2=A0 =

Over 120 students enrolled as pre-engineering students in fall of =
2005 and spring of 2006, four times the estimated enrollment.=C2=A0 The =
average SAT and GPA numbers for the pre-engineering students who took =
EGN 1006 in fall 2005 were higher than the FGCU averages.=C2=A0 With =
private donations, the SOE was able to award ten four-year, full-ride =
merit scholarships=C2=A0to engineering freshmen.

Three new scholarships for engineering students were endowed during =
2005-2006.

Goal 4: A Talented and Dedicated Faculty and Staff
All faculty for the School of Engineering, other than the =

African-American Assistant Professor and one female Assistant Professor =

female engineers, one for an administrative position at the Associate =

- Based on the continued increase in student enrollment at the =
undergraduate level=C2=A0and the University goal to increase graduate =
enrollment, the COB requests to recruit for three(3) additional faculty =
lines for hire 07/08: Accounting, Management/Organizational Behavior, =
and Finance(.75 funding).=C2=A0($335,000 plus benefits)=C2=A0
- As the COB continues to grow in regional and national prominence, it =
will be=C2=A0critical to=C2=A0hire=C2=A0a =
professional=C2=A0for=C2=A0external relations.=C2=A0 This new position =
would be dedicated to expanding the COB market niche.=C2=A0($65,000 plus =
benefits)
- As part of the continued efforts to recruit students, international =
partnerships are being formed.=C2=A0 It will be=C2=A0important that an =
additional=C2=A0Academic Advisor position be identified for the COB. =
This=C2=A0position will be=C2=A0critical=C2=A0to reduce student wait =
times and increase the level of service as well as ensure foreign =
students academic=C2=A0advising=C2=A0needs are met.=C2=A0 Also, this =
position will assists with the testing of the CAPP system for online =

office space and secretarial support become limited.=C2=A0 Currently, =

executive secretary to relieve this situation.=C2=A0 ($15,500 plus =

- In our efforts to support student needs the CGS1100 class was =
redesigned for bigger lectures with numerous=C2=A0lab =
sections.=C2=A0This format has proven to be successful=C2=A0and to =
continue there is a need for a full time coordinator. ($65,000 plus =
