The completion of the university's new planning, evaluation, and budgeting cycle with the use of assessment results to facilitate continuous improvement to demonstrate mission fulfillment has now been achieved.
As depicted in the FGCU planning and institutional effectiveness model, the annual reports are used to describe how results of the assessment of unit goals lead to continuous improvement, mission fulfillment, and contribute to the development of planning priorities for the coming year.
To facilitate completion of the annual reports, units are provided with an electronic template. Each reporting unit was asked to review its goals for the current academic year and align its goals with those of the University Strategic Plan [.pdf - 124kb]. The goals of the University Strategic Plan are derived from the review of the university's mission. As can be seen from the analysis of the university mission statement, there is close correspondence among the eight goals of the University Strategic Plan and the key elements of the university's mission statement. Consequently, actions taken in furtherance of attaining goals of the University Strategic Plan directly contribute to fulfillment of FGCU's mission.
