Academic Learning Compacts (ALCs) between each SUS institution and its students, specify outcomes that the university undertakes to develop in the students. In addition to discipline based SLOs, the outcomes specified in Academic Learning Compacts include critical thinking and communication outcomes.

The state now requires establishment and publication of ALCs for all undergraduate degree programs, and Program Review reports have to include copies of relevant ALCs and report on the achievement of outcomes they identify. These processes combine and articulate with the University Strategic Plan to carry out FGCU’s Institutional Effectiveness Directives.
