The Financial Aid and =
Scholarships Office is a service-oriented unit within the Division of =
Enrollment Services with primary responsibility to help students secure =
the funds necessary to pursue an education at Florida Gulf Coast =
University.=C2=A0 Given this mission, the Financial Aid and Scholarships =
Office staff assumes a proactive role in reaching out to enrolled and =
prospective availability of financial assistance at FGCU.

The Financial Aid and =
Scholarships Office provide services to both traditional and =
nontraditional students pursuing either an undergraduate or graduate =
degree.=C2=A0 Financial aid programs available for these students =
include scholarships, grants, loans, and student employment from =
federal, state, private and institutional sources of =
funding.

Improvements in the orientation =
process are already underway. =C2=A0Effective Spring 2005, students are =
now given information sheets with personalized financial aid application =
and award information at each orientation.
E-mail notices to all =
admitted students, providing financial aid process information, =
beginning with the Summer 2005 class, will begin in February =
2005.
Redesign of the Financial Aid Office web site will begin in =
Spring 2005. =C2=A0Each page in the site is being reviewed for accuracy =
of content and clarity of presentation. |

requirements. |

reconciliation reviews and the annual A-133 audit. |
The Financial Aid Office management will review of fund =
reconciliation reports on an on-going basis and will review annual A-133 =
audit findings. |
The 2003-04 A-133 audit findings are =
currently being addressed to correct deficiencies, where possible. =
=C2=A0Federal fund reconciliation reports are currently being reviewed, =
and will continue to be reviewed regularly in order to insure =
compliance. |
