Acquire and Organize Your Pictures
First, place all of the pictures you want to use, whether they’re from a scanner, digital camera, or the Internet, in a central location/folder.

1. Create a folder for your original pictures. You can organize this folder even further by using subfolders (i.e.: Week1, Week2, Week 3, etc).
2. Make a separate sub folder for your revised pictures. It is always a good idea to work with copies to avoid an unintentional permanent change. If you are working with your original files and you do not export your pictures correctly, the changes you make will replace your originals. The result may be a loss of the high resolution (print quality) picture. For example, if you have folder called “Colloquium_Photos” you should make a copy of the folder and name it something different, such as, “Colloquium_Photos_Resized” and work with pictures in that folder.

Resizing Pictures

• Open your Preview application.
• Go to Tools and choose “Adjust Size”

• Once the Image Dimensions window appears change the Resolution to 72. Make sure you have both “Scale proportionally” and “Resample image” check marked.
• Click OK

• Click on File | Save As to display the Save As dialog box.
• Enter a new name for the image (i.e. Colloquium_01_Resized)
• Click on the Save button. The Save As dialog box is closed and image is saved.
