Creating Inbox Rules in the Outlook Client
The following steps will move email with [SPAM] in the subject
line into a folder called spam.
1. From your Outlook client, click on the top menu bar File
then click New Folder

2. Under the box labeled Name type “Spam”
3. On the top menu bar, Click on “Tools”,
then “Rules Wizard”.
4. When the Rules Wizard window appears, click on new.
5. Under the box titled “What type of rule do you
want to create”, highlight “Move
message based on content”.
6. Under the rule description box, click on specific words
7. In the box labeled “Add new”
type “[SPAM]” and Click on OK
Your rule will now move messages with [SPAM] in
the
subject line into the
SPAM folder that you created.

Creating Inbox Rules in the Web Outlook Client
The following steps will move email with [SPAM] in the subject
line into a folder called spam in Outlook Web Access.
1. Open Outlook Web Access
2. Right click your mailbox name in the folder list to the left.
3. Select "New folder"
4. Name the new folder SPAM

5. Click the Rules icon on the bottom left of
the screen
6. Click on New...

7. Type [SPAM] in the "Rule Name"
box
8. Type [SPAM] in the "Subject Contains"
box
9. Then click the "Move it to the specified folder"
button
10. Then click the blue "specified"
link and select the SPAM folder that you created earlier.
11. Click Save and close.

Your rule will now move messages with [SPAM] in
the
subject line into the SPAM folder that you created.
