Welcome to one of the most innovative and collaborative universities in the country and to Undergraduate Studies at FGCU! Our programs are designed specifically to serve you, our students, and to help you fully realize your academic talents and abilities. Employers are interested in hiring those who communicate well in speaking and writing, who think critically and creatively, and who interact professionally and personally with others. By participating in our Live + Learn Communities, internships, service and cooperative learning, peer mentoring, and other enriching opportunities within Undergraduate Studies, you will find the support you need to be involved with and captivated by FGCU’s community.
Our goals are to guide you in making the most of your transformative educational experiences here at FGCU. When you engage fully in your academic opportunities, you gain the foundation for becoming lifelong learners, contributing to your communities, and working in a career you value. The office of Undergraduate Advising will help you select the coursework you need to complete your degree. Services such as our Center for Academic Achievement, Student Athlete Learning Center, and Writing Center support your academic progress even in those areas that you may find difficult. The General Education program provides a broad education that will sustain your future goals and interests. Our University Colloquium, a required course for all FGCU students, will attune you to the importance of sustainability in all aspects of life. Our Accelerated Collegiate Experience and Honors Program open unique academic opportunities for our most advanced students, while our Scholarship Program helps you enter the exciting realm of undergraduate research and engage in the professional dissemination of your work. Interested in learning about leadership? Check out our student mentor and leader programs. We are here to support you in making the most of your time as an Eagle!
Far from being impersonal, our faculty value your success. The Lucas Center for Faculty Development offers programs through which faculty hone their teaching, explore how to promote undergraduate research, and engage in conversation about best practices associated with high quality teaching and learning. Their activities and commitment to continued learning benefit you, our students.
Our focus is on collaboration, innovation, and transformation. Your time in college is precious. As an FGCU Eagle, work with us to discover your own unique vision for success. Let’s soar together!
