FGCU Employees Win International Award in Vancouver

FORT MYERS, FL - The award for Best Pedagogy Paper went to Florida Gulf Coast University employees Nancy Edwards and Kazuo Nakatani during the International Association for Computer Information Systems 2001 conference Oct. 3-6 in Vancouver, British Columbia. A former FGCU employee, Erping Zhu of the University of Michigan, helped author the paper and was recognized as a co-recipient.

Edwards is instructional designer in Course and Faculty Development. Nakatani is assistant professor in the College of Business. Zhu, while employed at FGCU, was instructional designer in Course and Faculty Development.

The IACIS Executive Board, in consultation with conference referees, awarded the three authors for “Development of Interactive Internet-Based Learning Environments: Just-in-Time Instruction and Effective Course Management” during its international conference.

Issues of Information Systems, a refereed publication of the IACIS, published the paper in Volume 2. The award is one of four annual awards given by the IACIS.
