FORT MYERS, FL - Managers and employees from both the private and public sectors are invited to attend a one-day workshop “Meeting the Challenges of a Middle Manager” presented by the Florida Institute of Government at Florida Gulf Coast University from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 13 at the FGCU Broadcast Building Room 111.
Ability alone is not sufficient for success. A middle manager has responsibilities up, down and laterally in the chain of command. The seminar will address the skills needed to be productive and effective in this role.

· Producing measurable results
· Examining responsibility vs. authority
· Communicating effectively
· Using facilitative skills to motivate staff
· Navigating the political rapids in the workplace
