People with Disabilities Can Learn to Water-ski and Sail; Community Invited to Adaptive Sports Clinic Oct. 5
FORT MYERS, FL - People with a variety of disabilities are invited to learn about numerous recreational resources available at the Adaptive Sports Clinic from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 5 at the Florida Gulf Coast University lakefront.
The Clinic will feature demonstrations and highlight some of the ways people with disabilities can be active participants in recreational activities and sporting events. Information on different types of recreational resources and activities will be available and participants have the option of actually taking part in activities, including water-skiing, sailing, wheelchair basketball and tennis.
The event is free for observers and a small fee will be assessed for those participating in certain events to cover participant insurance.
The Adaptive Sports Clinic is co-sponsored by FGCU students, faculty and staff, and members of community organizations such as the Spinal Cord Group of Southwest Florida.
