"Staying Positive No Matter What" Workshop Offered by FGCU Florida Institute of Government
FORT MYERS, FL - Managers and employees from both the private and public sectors are invited to attend a full-day course “Staying Positive No Matter What” presented by the Florida Institute of Government at Florida Gulf Coast University as part of its Professional Development Series from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 6 at the FGCU Broadcast Building Room 111.
For employees who want to be happy and successful but sometimes feel that there are just too many roadblocks to effectively meet the goal, this workshop will supply the tools and time-proven techniques to help stay positive and fight those negative feelings and behaviors.
· Develop techniques to fight negativity
· Understanding the psychology of positive thinking
· Demonstrate the value and appropriate use of humor in the workplace
· Turn negatives into positives
· Learn worry control and self-evaluate your worry level
Dr. David Kelley is instructor for the program. He is a native of Chattanooga, Tenn., and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology from the University of Tennessee, a master’s degree from the Divinity School of Duke University and a Doctor of Ministry degree in Organization Development from the San Francisco Theological Seminary in California.
Kelley is an ordained United Methodist minister and the founder and former pastor of the Grace United Methodist Church of Cape Coral. He is a Florida-licensed marriage and family therapist in private practice in Fort Myers and Naples. In addition, he is a licensed mediator for the state of Florida and has been providing training through the IOG for more than 15 years.
The central purpose of the Institute is to help promote superior performance in government and nonprofit organizations through quality training, consulting and technical assistance.
