Third Annual Forensic Symposium Focuses on Child Abduction: Two-Day Seminar on Interrogation to Follow
FORT MYERS, FL - The Florida Gulf Coast University Division of Justice Studies and the American Criminal Justice Association’s Lambda Alpha Epsilon campus chapter invite the community of Southwest Florida to participate in the Third Annual Forensic Symposium, from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 26 in the Whitaker Hall Sprint Room and a two-day post-event seminar on Thursday and Friday, Feb. 27-28.
The Forensic Symposium will feature practitioner speakers from law enforcement, forensic psychology, interview and interrogation, and victim therapeutic intervention.
The opening address, with FBI Special Agent John Kutchta, will pertain to the incidence of child abduction and subsequent law enforcement response.
Also, Professor Duane Dobbert will present a discussion on pedophilia and hebephilia. Dobbert has a Ph.D. from Capella University and has been awarded Diplomat Status in Psychological Specialties by the National College of Forensic Examiners.
Registration is $45 for professionals and $25 for students. Lunch is included.
“Scientific Interview and Interrogation” is a two-day, post-event seminar from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. Assistant professor in the Division of Justice Studies and veteran criminal investigator and interrogator David Lounsbury will conduct the seminar.
The cost of the post-event seminar is $200 for professionals and $100 for students. Continental breakfast and lunch are included.
