"Successfully Managing Change and Transition" Workshop Offered by FGCU Florida Institute of Government
2/20/2003

FORT MYERS, FL - Managers and supervisors from both the private and public sectors are invited to attend a one-day workshop “Successfully Managing Change and Transition” presented by the Florida Institute of Government at Florida Gulf Coast University as part of its Professional Development Series from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Wednesday, March 19 at the FGCU Broadcast Building Room 28.

This interactive and inspiring program will assist participants in professionally and personally surviving and thriving through individual, organizational and global shifts.

Objectives:

     Clarification of new goals, prioritizing values and redesigning professional and personal mission statements

     Techniques to successfully navigate through times of transition both professionally and personally

     Tools to shift perspective, take control and chart a new course

     Understanding the stages of transition, feelings, opportunities and challenges

     Developing a clearer and deeper sense of direction, purpose and fulfillment in your work

Patricia Varley is instructor for the program. For 15 years, she has been a national speaker, trainer, business and personal coach working with individuals, leaders, organizations and companies in “Reinventing Success from the Inside Out” by “Reclaiming the Wholeness of People.”

Varley, MHSA, has a Bachelor of Arts in behavioral sciences and a master’s degree in organization and management, and human services administration. She is a member of the International Coach Association and National Speakers Association, and works nationally.

The central purpose of the Institute is to help promote superior performance in government and nonprofit organizations through quality training, consulting and technical assistance.

As an accredited comprehensive public university, FGCU addresses the higher educational needs of Southwest Florida and provides a learning-centered environment that offers high quality educational opportunities for the general public, such as administratively hosting the Institute.
