International Grantsmanship Center Conducts Training Courses in Naples for Nonprofits and Government Agencies
FORT MYERS, FL - The Grantsmanship Center Inc., the world’s oldest and largest training organization for the nonprofit sector, is conducting a five-day training program to help nonprofit community and government agencies decipher the intricacies of the competitive grant-funding process, April 7 through 11 at the Florida Gulf Coast University Naples Center at 1010 Fifth Ave. S.
The workshop is hosted by the FGCU Center for Civic Engagement and is designed for both novice and experienced grantseekers searching for grants, writing grant proposals and negotiating with funding sources. Participants will work in teams to actually develop a grant proposal.
“Anyone with nonprofit management or grant proposal writing responsibilities, including staff, volunteers and board members, will benefit from attending this workshop,” director of the CCE Linda Summers said.
“Nonprofit organizations continue to face an uncertain future. With tight state and federal funding, we must acquire the skills to compete for limited resources.”
“New grants make it possible for cash-strapped agencies to bring important services into the community and get innovative ideas off the ground. Yet applying for and receiving grants is a very competitive process,” Summers said.
Class size is limited to 27 participants and registration is $775 including workshop tuition and one year of TGCI membership benefits and services. Fifty percent scholarships may be available for organizations with annual operating budgets under $300,000.
