FGCU Charlotte Center Offers Free Seminar Series for People Who Work With Public, Other Individuals
FORT MYERS, FL - The Florida Gulf Coast University Charlotte Center offers a series of 10 weekly mental health seminars to help people who work with the general public and other individuals recover from recent hurricanes beginning 6 p.m., Monday, Oct. 4 at Edison Community College in Charlotte County.
The free two-hour seminars are designed for employees and caregivers who are helping people from the general public cope with recent disasters, however other individuals are welcome to attend. The seminars focus on new methods of stress reduction and coping skills.
"It is important that our community and individual caregivers are given the opportunity to share information about what comes next and become better organized and prepared for the future. The focus will be on caregivers maintaining good mental health while busy helping others," FGCU Charlotte Center executive director Robert Burns said.
Reality therapist Norma Tedder, who has 40 years of experience helping people sort issues and make new plans, will facilitate groups.
