FORT MYERS, FL - Florida Gulf Coast University invites the public and the media to attend a focus group of Southwest Florida's school superintendents and selected high school students, 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m., Monday, Jan. 23 in the Student Union ballroom to address key issues and concerns identified by high school students in FGCU's five-county service area.
The FGCU Institute for Youth and Justice Studies and the School District of Lee County, including President William C. Merwin and Superintendent Jim Browder, host the meeting.
Participants discuss topics relating to youth and justice, and plans of action that are of particular concern to students in each respective high school, such as drugs on campus, school disruptions and violence, and community service.
Mason Goss, Head of School at The Canterbury School, and Marshall Bower, Senior Partner of Bower & Liles, P.A., facilitate discussion during the meeting.
