FGCU Invites Public, Media to Free Screenings during the Second Annual Human Rights Film Festival Jan. 19-20

FORT MYERS, FL - Florida Gulf Coast University invites the public and media to free screenings and discussions of selected films and documentaries during the Second Annual Human Rights Film Festival, Thursday and Friday, Jan. 19 and 20 in the Arts Complex black box theater.

The Film Festival runs 4 p.m. to 9:15 p.m., Thursday, and 1 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., Friday.

Thursday's films include "Footprints of Sorrow," "The Alarm Rings Softly," "The Gift," "The NEA Tapes," "Mardi Gras: Made in China" and "Going Home."

Friday's films include "Peacekeepers," "Cheated of Childhood," "Where Truth Lies" and "War Hospital."

Admission is free and light food is available.

Seating is limited. Attendees are encouraged to make reservations to assistant professor of philosophy and literature Sean Kelly at (239) 590-7440 or skelly@fgcu.edu with number of seats requested and an e-mail address for confirmation.

The event is sponsored by the Student Government Association, American Democracy Project, FGCU Philosophy Club and FGCU Chapter of Amnesty International.
