FGCU Renaissance Academy presents lecture on less lethal weapons systems Oct. 24 in Cape Coral



The Florida Gulf Coast University Renaissance Academy presents the lecture "Less Lethal Weapons-Tasers" with assistant professor in the College of Professional Studies and director of the Weapons and Equipment Research Institute Charlie Mesloh 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 24 at the FGCU Cape Coral Center to discuss the less lethal weapons systems currently utilized by local law enforcement agencies, including Tasers and its strengths and weaknesses in reducing police use of force.

FGCU Renaissance Academy presents two-part workshop on coping strategies for care givers of elderly parents Nov. 2, 9 in Cape Coral



The Florida Gulf Coast University Renaissance Academy presents the "The Sandwich Generation" workshop with independent geriatric social worker, consultant and trainer Helen Hunter 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 2 and 9 at the FGCU Cape Coral Center to discuss coping strategies for caregivers of elderly parents who try to meet the needs of parents, children, spouses and themselves.

FGCU Renaissance Academy presents two-part workshop on the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator Nov. 7, 14 in Cape Coral



The Florida Gulf Coast University Renaissance Academy presents the "The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, or MBTI" workshop with director of Planned Giving at FGCU Peter Lefferts 2:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 7 and 14 at the FGCU Cape Coral Center to learn how the personality assessment is used to identify individual personality types and how these types affect preferences and behavior. Participants complete the Inventory during the first session and receive their individual personality profiles in the second session.

FGCU Renaissance Academy presents the satirical world of cartoonist Doug MacGregor Dec. 7 in Cape Coral



The Florida Gulf Coast University Renaissance Academy presents "Cartooning with Doug MacGregor" 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 7 at the FGCU Cape Coral Center with cartoonist and illustrator for the "News-Press" Doug MacGregor to display and discuss his editorial and local comic strip cartoons from the past 25 years.
