FGCU Collegiate High School Adds Health Professions and Legal Studies for 2007-2008;
Hosts Public Information Night Jan. 16, 18
FORT MYERS, FL - Florida Gulf Coast University Collegiate High School hosts a public information night 6 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 16 at the Port Charlotte High School Auditorium; and 6 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 18 in Student Union 214 at FGCU for interested students and families to learn more about this early admission program.
The FGCU Collegiate High School is aimed at high-achieving high school students. High school students have the opportunity to complete their junior and senior years at FGCU full time and receive free tuition and books.
FGCU Collegiate High school students enroll in classes that meet the requirements of both high school diplomas and college freshman and sophomore years. Students have the opportunity to earn up to two years of college credit and/or an associate degree.
Interested high school sophomores and juniors may begin applying in March 2007. Students from the five-county region will be accepted based on an admission process which includes transcripts, letters of recommendation, SAT/ACT scores, essays and interviews.
Areas of study for FGCU Collegiate High School students include science, math, technology, engineering, education, health professions and newly added legal studies.
