FGCU Presents Fourth Annual Educational Symposium
on Consumer and Financial Issues Facing Senior Citizens
FORT MYERS, FL - Florida Gulf Coast University invites senior citizens, individuals who provide care or comfort to the elderly and the general public to attend the free Fourth Annual Educational Symposium on Consumer and Financial Issues Facing Senior Citizens, 10 a.m. to 1:15 p.m., Friday, Feb. 9 in the Student Union ballroom.
The Symposium features a variety of experts from several Southwest Florida organizations that will provide educational information for senior citizens.
Lecture topics include irrevocable trust agreements, identity theft, life care planning and Florida homestead law.
Dave Struble of Struble Financial Services presents "Declaring Florida Residency - The How and the Why." David T. Morgan, senior vice president at Raymond James and Associates Inc., presents "How to Select and Work with a Top Financial Advisor."
Lance McKinney, attorney with Osterhout and McKinney, presents "Life Care Planning - The Care Continuum Explained." James H. Applegate of Applegate Investment Management presents "The Prudent Portfolio: Investment Risk Management for Retirees."
Bret Hood, special agent with the Federal Bureau of Investigation, presents "Consumer Fraud and Identity Theft." Britton Swank, attorney with Osterhout and McKinney, presents "Why All Seniors Should Know About Irrevocable Trust Agreements."
The free Symposium includes a complimentary lunch and refreshments served throughout the event.
