FGCU Announces New Officers, Members of Foundation Board
FORT MYERS, FL - The Florida Gulf Coast University Foundation Inc. announced its new slate of officers and incoming board members for 2007-2008 at its quarterly meeting Wednesday at FGCU.
Duane Stranahan, Jr. was named chairperson of the FGCU Foundation Board. Stranahan is a retired attorney and an eight-year veteran of the FGCU Foundation Board. He is president and director of Stradum Inc. and Hydro-Winwell Inc. Stranahan serves as chairman of the executive committee, representative of the Foundation at public and social functions, a financial officer, and presides over all Foundation meetings.
Peter Sulick was named vice chairperson of the FGCU Foundation Board. Sulick is president and chief executive officer of AmerSite LLC, a family owned real estate development and investment entity. He has served on the FGCU Foundation Board since 2002. In his post as vice chairman, Sulick serves as chairman of the Development Committee.
Stephen McIntosh was named treasurer of the FGCU Foundation Board. McIntosh is a professional management consultant. As the FGCU Foundation Board treasurer, he serves as chairman of the Finance Committee.
Joseph Shepard was reelected as assistant treasurer of the FGCU Foundation Board. Shepard is vice president for Administration and Finance at FGCU.
Donald Lesch was named secretary of the FGCU Foundation Board. Lesch is vice chairman and president of The Sanibel Captiva Trust Company. He has served on the FGCU Foundation Board since 2006.
Along with new officers, the FGCU Foundation Board also elected three new members to four-year terms. They are John Fumagalli, regional president, Northern Trust Southwest Florida; William Stout, Jr., president, Realmark Group, LLC, Cape Coral; and Douglas St. Cerny with Oswald Trippe and Company, Fort Myers.
Additionally, Judy Sproul and Allen Weiss were approved to serve second four-year terms as Board members.
The purpose of the FGCU Foundation is to support the educational mission of the University. The FGCU Foundation encourages, solicits, receives and administers gifts for scientific, educational and charitable purposes, all for the advancement of the University.
