FGCU Announces New Officers, Members of Foundation Board

FORT MYERS, FL - The Florida Gulf Coast University Foundation Inc. announced its new slate of officers and incoming board members for 2008-2009 at its quarterly meeting Wednesday at FGCU.

Peter Sulick was named chairperson of the FGCU Foundation Board. Sulick is the president and chief executive officer of AmerSite, a family owned real estate development and investment entity and a six-year veteran of the FGCU Foundation Board. Sulick serves as chairman of the executive committee, representative of the Foundation at public and social functions, a financial officer, and presides over all Foundation meetings.

Steve McIntosh was named vice chairperson of the FGCU Foundation Board. McIntosh is president of Tartan Consulting and Founding Partner/CEO of The Southern Leadership Institute. He has served on the FGCU Foundation Board since 2002. In his post as vice chairman, McIntosh serves as chairman of the Development Committee.

Donald Lesch was named treasurer of the FGCU Foundation Board. Lesch is vice chairman and president of The Sanibel Captiva Trust Company. As the FGCU Foundation Board treasurer, he serves as chairman of the Finance Committee.

Joseph Shepard was reelected as assistant treasurer of the FGCU Foundation Board. Shepard is vice president for Administration and Finance at FGCU.

James Knupp was named secretary of the FGCU Foundation Board. Knupp is a founding partner of Ennis, Knupp & Associates, a privately held investment consulting firm. He has served on the FGCU Foundation Board since 2005.

Along with new officers, the FGCU Foundation Board also elected four new members to four-year terms. They are Barbara DuFrane, owner of DuFrane Jewelers, Bonita Springs; Andrea Fraser, Deputy County Attorney for Lee County; Guenther Gosch, CEO Moorings Park, Naples; and Charles Winton, owner Estero Bay Chevrolet, Estero.

The purpose of the FGCU Foundation is to support the educational mission of the University. The FGCU Foundation encourages, solicits, receives and administers gifts for scientific, educational and charitable purposes, all for the advancement of the University.
