FGCU Testing Center Receives Gold Standard Award for Internet-Based Test Administration
FORT MYERS, FL - Florida Gulf Coast University Testing Center was recently recognized for outstanding performance in meeting the requirements for the Castle Worldwide Gold Standard in Internet-Based Test Administration award.
Castle Worldwide Inc., located in Morrisville, N.C., administers professional certification and licensing examinations for a wide variety of professional associations and government agencies related to healthcare, business, safety, design and engineering.
"Last year, FGCU administered approximately 60 Castle exams. In addition to this award, the Testing Center has been acknowledged by ACT and the College Board CLEP program for outstanding service," said director of Testing Services and Institutional Test Administrator Janet Ullman.
The FGCU Testing Center delivered almost 8,000 exams last year. The Center is a member of the National College Testing Association (NCTA) and is a participant in the Consortium of College Testing Centers (CCTA), a free referral service provided by the NCTA to facilitate distance learning. The purpose of the CCTC is to make test administration services available to students at educational institutions away from their home campuses. All participating institutions must be NCTA members in good standing and are expected to adhere to the CCTC testing guidelines.
The Testing Center at FGCU provides the following tests and inventories to all students and the public: CASTLE exams; CAT CLAST (computer-based testing); CISS (Campbell Interest and Skill Survey); CLAST (College-Level Academic Skills Test); CLEP (College Level Examination Program); correspondence course exams; Dantes exams; distance learning exams; F-BAT (Florida Basic Abilities Test for law enforcement); FTCE (Florida Teacher Certification Exam); FTCE and General Knowledge Computer Exams; computerized MAT (Miller Analogy Test); MBTI (Myers-Briggs Type Inventory); and personality and psychological tests.
National ACT test for high school students is offered six times a year. The FGCU Testing Center participates in the ACT administration three of the six times.
Test review courses are available for the graduate school entrance exams GRE and GMAT.
