Founder of The Governance Center and The Directors' Institute at The Conference Board Speaks at FGCU About "the Role of Directors in Enterprise Risk Management," April 2
FORT MYERS, FL - The Institute for Responsible Corporate Governance at Florida Gulf Coast University announces Carolyn Kay Brancato, founder and senior advisor to the Governance Center and director of The Conference Board's European Governance Council will be keynote speaker for a program on 'The Role of the Board of Directors in Enterprise Risk Management', 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday, April 2, at the Sugden Welcome Center on campus. Registration begins 2:30 p.m., with reception to follow.
Brancato is the founder and former director of The Governance Center and The Directors' Institute at The Conference Board. She was the director of The Conference Board's Commission on Public Trust and Private Enterprise, convened following the Enron and WorldCom scandals; the Commission was chaired by Peter G. Peterson and Former Treasury Secretary John W. Snow and included Arthur Levitt, Jr. and Paul Volcker.
She was named by Directorship Magazine in its inaugural ranking of "One of the Top 100" most influential people in corporate governance in the United States.
This is the third of four leading edge programs for current and former corporate directors, executives, governance professionals and interested parties to be offered by the Institute for Responsible Corporate Governance at the Lutgert College of Business - Center for Leadership & Innovation.
The fourth and final program on the series will be held April 23, titled, "An Insider's Look into How the Board of UnitedHealth Group Turned an Options Backdating Scandal into an Extraordinarily High Corporate Governance Rating Outcome."
