FGCU Announces New Officers, Members of Foundation Board
FORT MYERS, FL - The Florida Gulf Coast University Foundation Inc. announced its new slate of officers and incoming board members for 2009-2010 at its quarterly meeting Wednesday at The Club at Grandezza.
Stephen McIntosh was named chairperson of the FGCU Foundation Board. McIntosh is the president of Tartan Consulting and Founding Partner/CEO of The Southern Leadership Institute and an eight-year veteran of the FGCU Foundation Board. McIntosh serves as chairman of the executive committee, represents the Foundation at public and social functions, and presides over all Foundation meetings.
Donald Lesch was named vice chairperson of the FGCU Foundation Board. Lesch is the co-chairman of The Sanibel Captiva Trust Company. He has served on the FGCU Foundation Board since 2006.In his post as vice chairman, Lesch serves as chairman of the Development Committee.
James Knupp was named treasurer of the FGCU Foundation Board. Knupp is a founding partner of Ennis, Knupp & Associates, a privately held investment consulting firm. He has served on the FGCU Foundation Board since 2005. As the FGCU Foundation Board treasurer, he serves as chairman of the Finance Committee.
Joseph Shepard was reelected as assistant treasurer of the FGCU Foundation Board. Shepard is vice president for Administration and Finance at FGCU.
John Fumagalli was named secretary of the FGCU Foundation Board. Fumagalli is the president and CEO for the Southwest Florida region for Northern Trust. Fumagalli has served on the FGCU Foundation Board since 2007.
Along with new officers, the FGCU Foundation Board also elected five new members to four-year terms. They are Jack Blais, founder of BlaisCo. LLC, Miller Couse, president and CEO of First Bank of Clewiston, David Holmes, president and managing director of the Farr Law Firm, Laura Holquist, president of ALLETE Properties and Tom Rice, president, Fawcett Memorial Hospital. Dr. John Little was reelected to a four-year term.
The purpose of the FGCU Foundation is to support the educational mission of the University. The FGCU Foundation encourages, solicits, receives and administers gifts for scientific, educational and charitable purposes, all for the advancement of the University.
