FGCU Small Business Development Center Hosts Small Business Forum in Bonita Springs Aug. 10

FORT MYERS, FL - The Small Business Development Center at Florida Gulf Coast University, in partnership with the City of Bonita Springs, Bonita Springs Area Chamber of Commerce and Southwest Florida Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, will host a free Small Business Forum in both English and Spanish, Monday, Aug. 10 at Community Hall in Bonita Springs on pertinent small business issues and topics.

The Spanish session is from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and the English session is from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. A question-and-answer format follows both sessions.

The forum is an opportunity for the presenting agencies to communicate with the business community via a panel discussion. Information on OSHA, workers compensation, SBA lending and the Recovery Act ARC Program, the City of Bonita Springs, the Bonita Springs Area Chamber of Commerce and other agencies will be available at resource tables. "We are very excited to take part in our first Small Business Forum in Bonita Springs," said Dan Regelski, SBDC director. "“With such great partners assisting us and helping the small business owner get some free answers, advice and information, it's a win-win event for everyone."

Bonita Springs Mayor Ben Nelson opens both sessions and SBDC Certified Business Analyst Harry Looknanan moderates the discussions.
First session panelists include: Julio Estremera, Certified Business Analyst, SBDC (resources available to small businesses), Millie Class, Minority Business Assistant, SBDC (how to register as a minority business owner), Veronica Culbertson, President, Southwest Florida Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (why chambers are important to businesses), and Gary Price, City Manager, City of Bonita Springs (working with city government).
Second session panelists include: Dan Regelski, Director, SBDC (resources available to small businesses), Christine Ross, President and CEO, Bonita Springs Area Chamber of Commerce (why chambers are important to businesses), Dan Telep, PTAC/Procurement Specialist, SBDC (working with the federal government), and Gary Price, City Manager, City of Bonita Springs (working with city government).
There is no cost to attend the forum. Reservations are encouraged. Registration can be completed online at http://cli.fgcu.edu/sbdc, or by calling the SBDC office at (239) 745-3700. Community Hall is located is at 27381 Old 41 Rd.

The SBDC at FGCU has been helping Southwest Florida small business owners for over 13 years with free counseling, workshops and seminars. The SBDC is located in the Lutgert College of Business at FGCU.
