FORT MYERS, FL - Florida Gulf Coast University College of Education announced professor of counseling Russell Sabella has joined the Advisory Council of "Hollywood For Kids" - a Los Angeles-based, world-wide educational initiative organization.

The Hollywood HD Studios organization presents film, television and electronic media related training workshops for K-12 students in over 30 countries.

Sabella is currently professor of counseling at FGCU and former president of the American School Counselors Association. He comes to Hollywood for Kids with a broad background in counseling technology, internet safety for families, comprehensive school counseling programs, peer helper programs and training, and solution focused brief counseling.

"We are very excited that Dr. Sabella has joined the advisory council at Hollywood for Kids. His grasp of youth oriented media and his extensive experience in educational counseling is truly impressive and is going to be very valuable as we continue to create new courses and workshops," said Kam Junejo, Chief Executive Officer of the Hollywood HD Studios, and founder of Hollywood for Kids initiative. "We are looking forward to the guidance and advice of Dr. Sabella to help us create exceptional course curriculum that not only teach vocational skills, but also help our students improve their self image and increase confidence in their ability to succeed in life."

Sabella holds a doctorate in counselor education, a master's degree in education, and a bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of Florida. He is author of numerous articles published in journals, magazines, and newsletters, as well as two highly popular books titled, Confronting Sexual Harassment: Learning Activities for Teens (Educational Media, 1995) and Counseling in the 21st Century: Using Technology to Improve Practice (American Counseling Association, 2004). He is a well known public speaker on youth related topics, and routinely presents his Technology Boot Camp for Counselor workshops at educational institutions throughout the United States.
