FGCU Florida Institute of Government Presents "Grant Writing for Success...Show me the Money!" Workshop

WHO FGCU Florida Institute of Government, for managers, supervisors and employees from both the private and public sectors

WHAT "Grant Writing for Success…Show me the Money!" full-day workshop from the Florida Institute of Government’s Non-Profit Series. This course is designed for all levels of development professionals. Individuals interested in helping an organization or community increase its successful fundraising will benefit from attending. Participants will receive tools, resources, guidelines, best practices and check-lists to utilize in their daily work. All participants will have an opportunity to critique grant applications as peer reviewers to assist in improving techniques and potential for success. Debra Lynne is instructor for the course.

•     Understand the different types of grant funding and funding authorities
•     Best practices for each of the funding types
•     Clarify the importance of research, analysis and due diligence
•     Build a relationship with a program and/or grant officer
•     Write the letter of inquiry, problem statement, program narrative, budget
•     Understand logic models, performance measures, and outcomes
•     Manage the relationship, reporting and compliance
