FGCU Hosts Former Chief Justice of the Delaware Court to Discuss New
Corporate Governance Regulations
FORT MYERS, FL - Florida Gulf Coast University's Institute for Responsible Corporate Governance hosts former chief justice of the Delaware Court E. Norman Veasey 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., Thursday, March 4 in the Sugden Welcome Center to discuss "Has Corporate Governance Been Federalized? What Role is Left for the States?"
Veasey served 12 years as chief justice of the Delaware Supreme Court, and is currently a senior partner at the law firm Weil, Gotshal & Manges where he advises on corporate governance issues involving the responsibilities of corporate directors.
As a prominent lawyer and litigator in Wilmington, he was involved in many of the seminal corporate law decisions made by the Delaware courts. Among many other accomplishments, he is past chair of the Committee on Corporate Laws of the Section of Business Law of the American Bar Association. He serves as adjunct professor at both the University of Virginia School of Law and Wake Forest University School of Law.
Veasey discusses pending legislation and regulation in Washington that would change the landscape by imposing new governance requirements going far beyond the traditional federal role.

Attendees will be eligible for Bar Association CLE credits (2.50 General CLER, including 2.50 Ethics). Participants may also obtain educational credits from the National Association of Corporate Directors.
