FGCU Announces New Officers, Members of Foundation Board
FORT MYERS, Fla. - The Florida Gulf Coast University Foundation Inc. announced its new slate of officers and incoming board members for 2013-2014 at its quarterly meeting Wednesday, June 5.
Charles Winton was named chairman of the Florida Gulf Coast University (FGCU) Foundation Board. He has served on the Foundation Board since 2008. He serves as chairman of the Executive Committee, represents the Foundation at public and social functions, and presides over all Foundation meetings. Winton is the owner of Estero Bay Chevrolet.
Miller Couse was named vice chairman of the FGCU Foundation Board. He has served on the Foundation Board since 2009. As vice chairman, he also serves as chairman of the Development Committee. Couse is chairman and CEO of First Bank of Clewiston.
Steve Magiera was named assistant treasurer of the FGCU Foundation Board. Magiera is vice president for Administrative Services and Finance at FGCU.
David Call was named treasurer of the FGCU Foundation Board. He has served on the Foundation Board since 2011. As the Foundation Board treasurer, he serves as chairman of the Finance Committee. Call is chairman, president and CEO of Fifth Third Bank (South Florida).
Laura Holquist was named secretary of the FGCU Foundation Board. She has served on the Foundation Board since 2009. Holquist is president of LAH Group.
Along with new officers, the FGCU Foundation Board also elected three new members to four-year terms. They are: Alex Lambros, partner, LPL Financial in Fort Myers; Daniel Lavender, CEO of The Moorings Park Institute in Naples; and Dennis Hansch, a corporate attorney at Nowlan & Mouat in Janesville, Wisconsin.
The purpose of the FGCU Foundation is to support the educational mission of the University. The FGCU Foundation encourages, solicits, receives and administers gifts for scientific, educational and charitable purposes, all for the advancement of the University.
