SWFL Small Business Resource Network Discusses "2014 Economic Outlook for Small Business Success" at Monthly Event
FORT MYERS, Fla. - The Southwest Florida Small Business Resource Network (SBRN) hosts a networking and discussion event about the 2014 economic outlook for small business owners 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 16, at the Holiday Inn, Fort Myers Airport @ Town Center, 9931 Interstate Commerce Drive, Fort Myers. SBRN, a statewide organization, is sponsored locally by Florida Gulf Coast University (FGCU) Small Business Development Center.
The speaker for the meeting is Gary Jackson, director of the Regional Economic Research Institute, and assistant professor of economics at FGCU. Editor of the monthly "Southwest Florida Regional Economic Indicator Report," Jackson will talk about the progress gained through recovery efforts in Southwest Florida and answer the question "Are we there yet?" Jackson earned a Ph.D. in economics from the University of Massachusetts and has extensive experience in economic forecasting, regulatory economics, industrial organization, and policy.
The meeting is sponsored by Grasmeier Business Consulting, which provides tax, accounting and consulting services to small businesses and its owners.
The evening begins with the Resource Network's monthly "Network after Five" social event where members and guests network and exchange ideas for growing their business. Cost for SBRN members is $15 per person, which includes hors d’oeuvres. Guests and unaffiliated small business owners pay $25 per person.
