FSBDC Presents Seminar on Hurricane Preparedness for Businesses
2014 Hurricane Season Begins June 1 - Is Your Business Prepared?
FORT MYERS, Fla. -- On June 13, the FSBDC at Florida Gulf Coast University (FGCU) will present a hurricane awareness and preparedness seminar for businesses in SW Florida. The FSBDC will be joined by guest speakers John Wayne of the Lehigh Fire Department, Linda Carter of Emergency Management Services, and Captain Todd Garrison with the Lee County Sheriff's Department. Attendees will receive information and learn how important it is for businesses to complete a risk assessment, prepare a communications plan, secure alternate sources of power, as well as data back-up and data protection. With proper planning businesses and families can be prepared before and after a hurricane makes landfall. Additional seminar sponsors include Fireservice Disaster Kleenup and the Greater Lehigh Acres Chamber of Commerce.
The seminar will be hosted in Lehigh Acres at the Lehigh Chamber of Commerce, 25 Homestead Rd. N. #41 on Friday, June 13 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. The seminar is a no-cost event open to both businesses and the public. Space is limited for this event - early registration is suggested.
