FGCU Hosts Seidler International Film Festival

FORT MYERS, Fla. - The Department of Language and Literature at Florida Gulf Coast University (FGCU), in partnership with the College of Arts and Sciences and the Seidler Fund, will host a series of international movie showings. The reception and movie showings are free and open to the public.

Opening night takes place Monday, Feb. 6 at 5 p.m., with a reception followed by the first movie screening.

Movies will be showing in Sugden Welcome Center Theater (SWC 108) every Monday and Wednesday throughout the month of February (except for the week of Feb. 20-26).

All movies will be shown in the original language (Spanish, French, and German) with English subtitles.

Monday, Feb. 6, 5 p.m. - Reception, and a movie at 6 p.m. ? "Dans la Cour" ("In the Courtyard"), a film by Pierre Salvadori (2014), 97 minutes.

Wednesday, Feb. 8, 6 p.m. - "Pelo Malo" ("Bad Hair"), a film by Mariana Rodon (2013), 93 minutes.

Monday, Feb. 13, 6 p.m. - "Die Fremde" ("When we Leave"), a film by Feo Aladag (2010), 119 minutes.

Wednesday, Feb. 15, 6 p.m. - "Monsieur Lazhar" ("Mister Lazhar"), a film by Philippe Falardeau (2012), 94 minutes.

Monday, Feb. 27, 6 p.m. - "Todos Se Van" ("Everybody Leaves"), a film by Sergio Cabrera (2015), 107 minutes.

Wednesday, March 1, 6 p.m. - "Wer fruher stirbt ist langer tot" ("Grave Decisions"), a film by Marcus H. Rosenm?ller (2006), 104 minutes.
