Meet the Staff

 
 
Susan Evans

Vice President and Chief of Staff

Susan Evans is the Vice President and Chief of Staff for Florida Gulf Coast University (FGCU). A member of the University’s 1993 founding team of five employees, Ms. Evans has served as the University Spokesperson since 1993, the Corporate Secretary to the Florida Gulf Coast University Board of Trustees since its establishment in 2001, and as a direct report to Founding President Roy McTarnaghan (1993 – 1999), Interim President Suzanne Richter (1999), Interim President Gene Hemp (1999), President Bill Merwin (1999 – 2007), Interim President Dick Pegnetter (2007), and FGCU President Wilson Bradshaw (2007 – present). In addition, she was the University’s first government relations director and lobbyist from 1993 to 2000, and also held an acting role as the first Senior Woman Administrator (SWA) for FGCU Athletics.

Ms. Evans holds a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree from Stetson University and a Master of Public Administration (MPA) degree from Florida Gulf Coast University.

Lillian Pagan

Director of Media Relations 

Lillian Pagan is the Director of Media Relations for Florida Gulf Coast University (FGCU).  Ms. Pagan works as a liaison to local, state and national media to inform the public about events, research and other newsworthy happenings at the University, including writing and disseminating press releases. She also identifies and helps the media locate University experts to comment on today’s news or topics of interest. Ms. Pagan is the FGCU-designated representative to the council of communicators of the State University System/Board of Governors.  She joined FGCU in December 2000 in the Office of Community Relations and Marketing. Ms. Pagan holds a bachelor’s degree in English and a master’s degree in Human Resource Management.  

Amber Pacheco

Director of Board Operations, and Special Projects

Amber Pacheco is the Director of Board Operations, and Special Projects for Florida Gulf Coast University (FGCU).  Ms. Pacheco directs the operations of the FGCU Board of Trustees, including meetings, agenda materials, financial reporting, and new trustee orientations.  She also handles a variety of non-Board-related special projects for the Vice President and Chief of Staff, and is responsible for the websites of the FGCU Board of Trustees; the Office of the FGCU President; and the Office of the FGCU Vice President and Chief of Staff.  Ms. Pacheco joined FGCU in 2005 and served various departments, including Auxiliary Services, Campus Reservations, and the FGCU Foundation. A graduate of FGCU, Ms. Pacheco received her Bachelor of Science degree in 2011.
