Goals, Objectives, and Assessment

Goal Objective Assessment
To improve the education potential for Seminole Indian elementary students. Improve reading skills FGCU teachers will read aloud each day.
Seminole teachers and peer mentors will practice reading the same book later.
Improve writing skills Write min. 1 books per week
Improve math skills and description of process [New Florida Comprehensive Achievement Test (FCAT) requirement.] Compute min. 4 word problems per week and explain process.

Teachers will focus on demonstrating the application of math to the real world.
To provide skill building for promotion to next grade Use drills and measures prescribed by local pubic school
To have peer mentors among the children Practice reading to another student min 2 times per week
Improve goal setting and organization Students write goals with help of teachers and evaluate success.
Seminole aides and FGCU students gain competencies

 
Practice goal setting and evaluation Aides and FGCU students write goalsand evaluate their performance at the end.
Partnered teaching using new techniques. Both will plan daily curriculum together and discuss their weaknesses and strengths at the end of the day.
FGCU students acquire cross-cultural teaching experience FGCU students will live on the reservation for the two weeks They will participate in community events.
To develop non-traditional methods of classroom learning and culturally appropriate curriculum in the community setting. Peer Mentoring Students k-5 will help each other
Language experience Students will display their work or present material at celebration at end of session
Cultural integration Seminole speakers provide information on culture to stimulate related activities.
